No, I have not abandoned my site haha. I've been pretty busy lately so I wasn't able to update as much as I wanted.
So June is already nearing, which means my side job as a research assistant for a project will be ending. Although there aren't many tasks as much as I expected, the project still took a lot of time mostly because of the meetings and such. Aside from that, I am also planning another recital for my students on May, so it's been pretty hectic preparing each of their performances. Not to mention, I also want to perform a piece or two, hence I've been taking time to practice properly (after years lol). After graduating, I sort of had this slump when it comes to music...maybe because it took me a long time to finish and I wanted to rest it for a bit to focus on other things I've put aside. So it was kind of hard for me to get back my dexterity when it comes to the difficult pieces haha but it's fun and I actually missed practicing like the good old days. It's also one of the reasons why I haven't recorded some music for my Crafts page -- because I want to show here a different genre than what I usually play (which is classical), and I haven't really practiced anything else since I've been mostly focusing on my classical pieces. I'll probably start working on that on the second half of the year lol.
Another random update, I just bought yarns for projects I want to finish by May.
I'm planning to make a small bag for formal events (because I don't have one haha). Hoping I could finish it by the end of June, since I have a wedding to attend on July. Another project I wish to finish is a cute basket, which I'm planning to give to a friend (along with some homemade cookies and stuff) for her birthday on June. I have no experience when it comes to making bags and baskets so I will have to watch maybe a few tutorials online to minimize spoilage lol because I usually just wing my crochet projects and most of the time they end up...not so good.
Just to share, here's one of the big crochet projects I successfully finished making before:
It's an oversized cardigan, haori-style. I did not follow any pattern -- although I watched a few patchwork cardigan tutorials on YouTube just to get an idea of how to make one -- but the design and especially the sizing, is 100% improvised lol. It doesn't look like it but it's really big (because I suck at estimating); it still looks nice and is actually much better than the very first piece I made, which is a long-sleeved chunky cardigan. I mostly experiment on crocheting, that's why all my projects aren't perfect haha but yeah, it's fun.
I have many things I want to do, online and offline, and it's just been really hard to manage my time. But I'm glad at least little by little I can see progress!
